Emmanuelle Revel-Pellet

Emmanuelle Revel-Pellet was born in Dijon in 1963. She studied Art History at the Ecole du Louvre and at the Sorbonne in Paris. In 1987 she first graduated as an Art Teacher, and later as Associate Professor of Fine Arts from 1989. She taught at a college and university before working for ten years as head of the Art Teaching Department at the Louvre Museum.
Revel-Pellet is widely travelled, having lived in Paris, Luxembourg, Mauritius and Singapore.
She is currently based in the South of France in that classic creative hotbed of Aix-En-Provence, which was home to such artistic luminaries as Cezanne, Matisse and Gauguin. Revel-Pellet devotes herself to painting and writing books, and her style is highly recognisable with its excellence in draftsmanship and her use of physiognomic idiosyncrasy with a hint of the uncanny and the surrealistic.
